Precision Meets Artistry: Illustrating Einstein in Three Dimensions
As a non-fiction illustrator, working on Albert Einstein: A Pop-Up Book—a title in the BIO POPS / SCIENCE POPS series of interactive biographies—was a rewarding technical and creative project.
For art buyers, publishers, and creative directors reviewing my portfolio, this project highlights my capability to deliver high-quality, scientifically demanding illustrations while keeping the layout commercial, vibrant, and engaging for young readers.

Every scene, portrait, and pop-up mechanism had to be recognizable and faithful: Einstein’s likeness across different ages, period clothing and settings, the visual logic of relativity made tangible, and key life moments such as his arrival in New York after fleeing Nazi Germany. I researched historical photographs, period details, and accessible ways to represent complex ideas so the artwork could serve as an authentic educational tool for children aged 5 and up.

About the Book & Series
Geared toward curious readers from age 5, the book brings Einstein’s most famous ideas and life events to life through paper engineering and illustration. It is a compact, 10-page hardback packed with pop-ups, speech-bubble quotes from his writings, and scenes that make abstract science feel immediate.
