As a non-fiction illustrator, working on the Bird Atlas—a key instalment in Lonely Planet Kids' popular novelty Creature Atlas series—was an incredibly rewarding technical and creative project.

Nature illustration requires a delicate balance of aesthetics and strict factual accuracy. For this series, every single bird had to be accurately drawn to reflect its real-world counterpart. I conducted thorough research into correct anatomical proportions, distinct plumage patterns, and specific species colorations. From the majestic wingspan of hunting eagles to the unique markings of desert falcons and polar penguins, the artwork had to be completely recognizable and ornithologically faithful, providing an authentic educational tool for children.
